How to Close Token Accounts in Phantom Wallet

Phantom is one of the most used Solana wallets. If you trade or receive airdrops, it likely holds empty token accounts with rent SOL locked inside. You can close those accounts inside Phantom, or batch-close them with SolWipe.

Close a single empty account in Phantom

UI labels change over time, but the flow is usually:

  1. Open Phantom and find the token with a zero balance (or open token details).
  2. Look for Close account / manage account options.
  3. Confirm the transaction.

Phantom will return the rent deposit for that account to your SOL balance. Repeat for each empty mint — fine for a few accounts, tedious for dozens.

Batch-close with SolWipe (Phantom connected)

When you have many empties:

  1. Go to solwipe.com
  2. Connect Phantom (extension or Phantom’s in-app browser on mobile)
  3. Review empty accounts and recoverable SOL
  4. Approve the close transaction in Phantom
